But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the
thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be
ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting. ~Micah 5:2
For in speaking of the appearance of the Saviour amongs us, we must
needs speak also of the origin of men, that you may know that the reason of His
coming down was because of us, and that our transgression called forth the
loving-kindness of the Word, that the Lord should both make haste to help us
and appear among men. For of His becoming Incarnate we were the object, and for
our salvation He dealt so lovingly as to appear and be born even in a human
body. ~Athanasius (293-373 A.D.)
His Entering Into Human History
The Bible speaks of the Word who became flesh
and dwelt with men (John 1:14). He is the only begotten Son of God whose goings
forth have been from of old―from everlasting (Mic 5:2). Indeed, human mind
cannot comprehend well HOW the eternal Word came into the world―being one not
from the world (John 18:36), entered into history―being one who did not evolve
out of human history (John 1:1-3), made in the likeness of men―being one who was
"very God of very God, begotten, not created" (Phil. 2:6-7; Heb 1:6-8),
stranded in time―being one who exists from everlasting to everlasting (Psa
90:2), subjected Himself to the law―being the one who gave the law (Gal 4:4;
John 8:58; Exo 3:14 ); nor the natural mind can bear to imagine of the Son of
God who must left the glory above to live on earth below only to be rejected by
His own, and to be forsaken by the Father in time of His agony (John 1:11; Mark 15:34; Isa 53:3-4). But, all of these biblical truths exactly affirm that God's
ways and dealings are far more above from what men could do or ever imagine
(Rom 11:33; Isa 55:8). Men may not totally comprehend God's ways and dealings,
as revealed in the Bible, yet He wants us to take Him at His Word that all will
be well with us. True Bible-believing Christians must live a kind of life whose
expectations are beyond the expectations of the natural men―beyond the rational
perspective of natural men―for Christians walk by faith and not by sight (1Co
2:14; 2Co 5:7). Their faith in God makes
them a kind of people who are embracing spiritual treasures in which only true
Christians can enjoy (Heb 11:1-2; 1Pet. 2:9). I am so glad that I am one of them!
Hallelujah!
The story of the incarnation of the Word is a
biblical fact that no human mind can possibly explain. It continue to withstand
the scientific facts concerning human conception proving that Jesus' birth was
supernaturally unique and one and only of its kind (Luk 1:28-35). Mary was then
wondering and asked the angel, "How shall this be, since I am a virgin?",
and the angel explained to her the ways of the Lord; and Mary replied, "be
it done to me according to your word" (Luk 1:34-38). What a humble
response! Jesus' birth in the manger on that momentous day was a demonstration
of great humility considering that He was the incarnate God clothed in the
human flesh (Phil. 2:8). Joseph then might had asked God, "Father please
show me where I fit into this plan of yours; how can a man like me be a father
to the Son of God. You know Lord that for all my life I been a simple carpenter,
how can I raise a King"! If you were Mary or Joseph, what would be your
response to God?
His Entering Into Human Heart
Indeed, there are many people who don't
believe in Jesus neither they like to embrace the idea of full salvation
through Him (Psa 14:1; 1Co 1:18). If in case you who are reading this writting
still don't have personal knowledge or relationship with Jesus, I am asking you
to consider this very thing more seriously for it behooves you to know this
vital truth. If you are amazed with how the Bible speaks of His marvelous
coming into this darkened world; then, surely you'll be amazed too if you will
know that Jesus can come into your life bringing marvelous things and light for
your darkened soul that will cause you to wonder and praise Him evermore!
First of all, let me tell you, based on God's
Word, about your spiritual standing in the sight of God. The truth is―because
you are a man―you are lost and cannot save yourself. The Lord God requires
perfection for those who want to become His children. Even how good you are in
the sight of men, or as you think of yourself, yet you are not sinless;
therefore you are still not perfect. The Bible speaks of you as a sinner (Rom
3:10). You missed God's standard (Rom 3:23) and therefore stands condemned
(dead) in His sight (Eph 2:1). You are heading on your way to Hell (Isa 14:9)
and will be finally separated from God for all eternity in the Like of Fire
(Rev 21:8). You cannot save yourself through your own efforts, religion or
through anything you could possibly do or achieve (Isa 64:6). What a bad news!
Isn't it! I don't want you to suffer these things in the near future; so hold
on! Let me tell you the GOOD NEWS!
There are four steps to become perfect in the
sight of God: First,
you must admit that you are a sinner bound to Hell. Anyone who insist
that he is not a sinner makes God a liar (1Jn 1:10). To admit that you are a
sinner means you agree totally with God on what He says about your sins. Sins
separate you from God (Isa 59:2) and no matter how collectively small it seems
your sins are, it is still a big issue with Him (Jas 2:10). You must be
thoroughly cleanse in the sight of God and to become whiter as snow (Isa 1:18).
Second, you must admit that you cannot save yourself and that you
need a Saviour to save you from your spiritual condition (Luk 19:10). To insist
that you can contribute something or you must work for your salvation means to
deny Christ's salvation and His sufficiency as a Saviour (John 14:6; Eph 2:8-9;
Tit 3:5). Salvation is a GIFT from God and it is something that is not to be
work for but only to be receive by faith (Rom 6:23; John 1:12). Third,
you must believe that Jesus died to pay the full price of your sins to
redeem you eternally through His precious blood (Heb 9:12). When it comes to
salvation it must be that you focus your spiritual eyes to Jesus as the One who
was being judged and died in your stead (1Jn 2:2) for you to be free from the
penalty of sin. Jesus is the TRUTH that will sit you free―if you believe in Him
(John 8:32; 8:36;)! Fourth, you must receive Jesus by
faith into your heart and into your life as your personal Lord and Saviour (John 1:12). To receive Jesus means that you must call on Him in prayer (Rom 10:13).
To have Jesus in your heart means to possess eternal life (1Jn 5:12). To have
Jesus in your heart means to be free from judgment (Rom 8:1). To have Him in
your heart means victory over death (John 5:24). To have Him in your life means
to be perfect in the sight of God (Heb 10:14). Jesus took away all the sins of
every believer and reckon to them His own righteousness in order for them to be
perfect and complete in God's sight (Heb 10:17; 2Co 5:21, Rom 10:4).
Do you want to receive Jesus right NOW to be
saved and to be perfect in God's eyes? May I suggest a simple prayer for you to
pray to Him; "Lord Jesus, I admit that I am a sinner bound to Hell, and
cannot save myself. Thank you for loving me and for dying for me. I now receive
You into my heart as my personal Lord and Saviour. Cleanse me with Your blood,
and cloth me with Your own righteousness that I may become perfect in God's
sight. Thank you for the gift of life. In Your most wonderful name I pray,
Amen!"
NOW, that you are already saved and become
perfect in Christ, you are already a new creation in Him (2Co 5:17). You can
now enjoy to thank Him and praise Him for the wonderful and marvelous things
that He has done in your life. You can now begin your life as a Bible-believing
Christian glorifying and magnifying God everyday. Now, that you are already
made perfect and made complete in Christ, ask God daily to give you the grace
to work out (show forth) your salvation which you have in Christ (Phil. 2:12; Mat
5:16; Eph 2:8-10; Tit 3:5-8) for men to see that you are no longer the one who
was hopeless and lost. God saved us to make a difference in this wicked world.
We will not be serving Him to be saved; but to glorify and magnify Him as the
One who saved us and made us perfect in His sight (Col 1:12-14). Hallelujah!
Good news indeed!
