Salvation Is Received, Not Achieved

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. —Ephesians 2:8-9

The Word of God plainly teaches that eternal life is a “FREE GIFT” from God (Romans 5:15). Ephesians 2:8-9 is clear on this subject—man has no part in God's salvation. When Paul says, “work out your own salvation” (Philippians 2:12-13), he did not mean to work for salvation; but to show forth to the world the salvation which God has done in the life of the believer. Over and over in the book of Psalms, references are made to “Thy Salvation,” that is, God's salvation. It is God that saves sinners, and not man. Neither priest nor minister can forgive sins. Only Jesus Who has the nail-scared hands and feet can forgive man's sins. Salvation is not something that is being achieved; but rather simply being received by faith.
It's not what you're doing that gets you to Heaven; it's who you are looking. LOOK TO JESUS!—Isaiah 45:22.
Salvation is based upon the PROMISES of God. Titus 1:2,In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, PROMISED before the world began.” Salvation is not a matter of man doing something for God; but of what God has done for man. God in His unconditional love sent His only begotten Son into the world to SAVE SINNERS!—John 3:16-18.
Salvation is receiving, not giving. Eternal life is a free gift from God. In salvation, a person simply ceases from self-righteousness (dead works) and rests upon the righteousness of Jesus Christ. Hebrews 6:1, “Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God.” Repentance is turning toward God from one's dead works (self-righteousness) to be saved. Biblical repentance is turning toward God to be saved from one's sins; not turning from one's sins as a prerequisite to faith in God. God makes the necessary changes in one's life. Our part is simply to BELIEVE ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST (Acts 16:30-31). Salvation is as simple as getting on the ark.
True Christianity is a DONE RELIGION which means that each believer is trusting to Christ’s finished redemptive work on Calvary for salvation. Oh friends, all the sacraments of the Catholic Church won't save a devoted one. It is idolatry! God must not be worshipped with idols, nor can a man gain God’s favor by following sacraments and man-made traditions. Furthermore, every religious group that says, “we are the only true church and all others are false—you must be one of us to be saved” is cultic and false religion. They are all a road to damnation in the Lake of Fire (Revelation 21:8). So with other Protestant groups, new evangelicals and other emerging religious denominations that can be labeled as part of DO RELIGION—which means that each believer is trying to do his best to be saved.
Salvation is freely received; not meritoriously achieved. Eternal life is a gift; not a reward. Man needs God’s righteousness—that perfect righteousness of God which He impute to every repentant sinner the very moment he place his faith in Jesus—the only begotten Son of God, the able and willing Savior. 2Corinthians 5:21 says, “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” This is the only way for you to be perfect, holy and unblamable in God’s sight—to be justified by faith (Romans 5:1; Colossians 1:21-22)
If, by reading this article the Holy Spirit touch your heart and you realize your spiritual situation and need, don’t wait for another moment! Now is the day of salvation! Tomorrow might be too late. Come to Jesus RIGHT NOW and be SAVED!—2Corinthians 6:2. You can’t worship and serve God acceptably without His Life in you (1John 5:11-13). You must received Him by faith TODAY and be FREE from coming condemnation that awaits everyone who reject God’s full salvation (John 5:24; Hebrews 2:3).

Hi, I am writing a book entitled "Prescription for Peace". My plan is to have it published as gift book/witnessing tool. Could I please have your permission to use the picture with text "I know the plans I have for you..." on one of the pages of my book? Thank you so much. Judith Payne BScN, B.A. Psychology
