Building Others Up In Love

Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge (James 4:11).

Jesus summarized the entire law of loving God and neighbor (Matt. 22:27-40), and Paul said that love demonstrated toward a neighbor fully satisfies the law (Romans 13:6-10). When we fail to love, we are actually breaking God's law. Examine your attitude and actions toward others. Do you build people up or tear them down? When you're ready to criticize someone, remember Gods law of love and say something good about him or her instead. If you make this a habit, your tendency to find fault with others will decrease and your ability to obey God's law will increase.

Let your conduct outside reflect that you are a child of God. In any gathering, be a source of inspiration to others, exhorting, admonishing and building up the society where you belong. Let the society feel a positive impact from you. Don’t be a burden to the society but carry the burden of others.

When you love, you will recognize the problem and failure in others, however, you never know what others may become. Love never gives up, knowing that God can change lives for better. When you edifies, your love for others continues unabated. When you edify and remain edified, God blesses you and you become a source of blessing to others.
