Active Love

By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another (John 13:35).

Love is not simply warm feelings―it is instead an attitude that reveals itself in action. How can we love others as Christ loves us? By helping when it's not convenient, by giving when it hurts, by devoting energy to other's welfare rather than our own, by absorbing hurts from others without complaining or fighting back. This kind of loving is hard to do. That is why people will notice the difference when a Christian who is filled with the Holy Spirit do these things.

You should understand that "your neighbor" includes all the people everywhere, as shown by the Parable of the Good Samaritan. For most people, doing this thing is impossible to do but when your heart is filled with God's love, consequently, with the help of the Holy Spirit, this can be possible. This is radical Christian love: counting the other person's happiness and well-being the same as your own. This means that as you live your life in this world, you must also consider other's lives and count them as important as yours.

God demonstrated His love to us by giving us His Son. Now, we are commanded to do the same by sharing our lives to others.
