That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved. (Rom. 1:26-27, NLT; Rom. 1:26, 27, KJV).
Paul
clearly wrote to the Romans that all people everywhere are without
excuse in knowing that there is a Creator—God
Himself. Paul has harsh words for those who deny God and His plan for
creation, especially in the forms of idolatry and homosexuality.
Christians
need to understand two important messages from God regarding
homosexuality. First, homosexuality is not an acceptable alternate
lifestyle. It it wrong, and it is sinful. Second, homosexuality is a
behavior that can be forgiven and changed with God's help. Jesus'
death on the cross paid for the sin of homosexuality, just as it paid
for the sins of lying, lust, hate and , pride. Homosexuals, like all
sinners, stand guilty before God. But there is hope for sinners of
all kinds through the person of Jesus Christ. His redemptive work on
Calvary grant deliverance from the penalty and power of sin to those
who believe and obey His Word. He is the one who will set us free,
regardless of our sin.
Think
of these verses:
Leviticus
18:22. God forbids homosexual relationships.
Leviticus
18:29. There is a penalty for homosexual sin.
1 Kings 14:24. Homosexual practices are an abomination.
Matthew
7:1. Pray for and witness to homosexuals.
