Are You Trying to Please Everybody?

And so Pilate, willing to content the people, release Barabbas unto them, and delivered Jesus, when he had scourged him, to be crucified (Mark 15:15).

Although Jesus was innocent according to Roman law, Pilate caved in under political pressure. He abandoned what he knew was right. He tried to second-guess the Jewish leaders and give a decision that would please everyone while keeping himself safe. When we lay aside God's clear atatements of right and wrong and make decisions based on our audience, we fall into compromise and lawlessness. God promises to honor those who do right, not those who make everyone happy.

Right is right even you're the only one who is doing it. Wrong is still wrong even if everybody is doing it.
